Everyone enjoyed the day. We think we’ve achieved a lot and had a good laugh. Into the bargain, our Jon Conway guided and empowered us that day. A day that could really make a difference not just to our lives, but to the lives of thousands of others who were unable to attend the event for whatever reason.
So if you’re reading this, living in a hostile property, don’t think you’re on your own and that no one is really bothered. The Homes for Wales campaign is along with a lot of other organisations. Tenants and residents have done as we’ve done. By the way, it doesn’t end here, this could go further believe you me and we will keep you posted. For more information #HomesForWales or @HomesForWales and not forgetting Homes for Wales where you can add your voice.
We left Cardiff at about 6pm, having necked a well-earned cup of coffee – a latte in our case. The whole day, despite the weather was like a big party. One of us had JC’s birthday announced as that coincided with the day’s proceedings also. Reporting restrictions are in force to protect the identity of the culprit. Those who needed taxis were organised and we went our separate ways. One of the party, Rosanne Saveross, discovered she was out of petrol.
Well it’s almost time to go but before we do, there is a large number of people I should thank but I don’t want to embarrass them, they know who they are. I became a little frightened on the march, knowing I have a weakness down one side. I wondered if I’d complete it as I was losing power. Obviously not being one to give up without a fight, people were again encouraging me to succeed, you made me look good.
I’m now at home licking my wounds. Deb says I’ve got no one else to blame and she’d be right. That said, I’m glad I did it and people saw me standing by what I believe. The aches and so on will go, but the memories of a great ground breaking day will remain, thanks to all of you wonderful people who kept me company on that march.
This is your friends, Electric Hawkeye Harris and Dangerous Debbie – my partner in life and crime – blogging off. There will be more home truths very soon.
